Pellet Therapy

Pellet hormone therapy places small hormone pellets under the skin, usually near the hip, that release hormone over a period of months. The only FDA-approved hormone pellet is a testosterone pellet for certain men with low testosterone; there are no FDA-approved estradiol or testosterone pellets for women. Compounded pellets are not FDA-approved, which means the FDA has not reviewed them for safety, effectiveness or quality.
